KraussMaffei wins the iF Design Award 2022
| KraussMaffei
The award for the pioneer processControl is the company's fifth design award since 2018
How can the user interface of the KraussMaffei process control system be designed in such a way that it reflects the complexity of plastics processing - but at the same time offers a clear interface and an intuitive user experience? This question was tackled by an internal team from Extrusion Control Technology and Corporate Brand Management together with the design office HMI Project GmbH.
A great challenge - with a convincing result. The revised pioneer processControl impresses with an appealing graphic design as well as a high level of user-friendliness and has now been awarded the renowned iF Design Award 2022 for this.
The revised design of the pioneer processControl structures all information hierarchically and highlights the most important values and system notifications for each work step. This allows users in the complex process of plastics processing to recognize and correctly interpret the relevant sensor values at a glance.
"We are very pleased to receive the iF Design Award. The award is a great honor for us and further proof that coherent design and unconditional customer centricity are successfully intertwined in our applications."René Jordan (Teamlead Control Technology Automation)
Following the German Brand Award 2018 and 2020, the nomination for the Design Award 2021 and the Red Dot Award 2021, this is already the fifth award for a corporate design project from KraussMaffei. At the iF Design Award, the pioneer processControl was able to hold its own among almost 11,000 entries from 57 countries and convince the jury of 132 international experts.
"The KraussMaffei brand stands for a professional external appearance combined with a high level of user-friendliness. The fact that the pioneer processControl has now won out over such top-class competition shows that our concept is convincing."Eva März (Head of Brand Management & Strategy)
The pioneer processControl was piloted in the field of extrusion - offering the prospect of transferring the project to other areas. Since the process control is set up as a modular system, it can be transferred to the requirements of other technologies. A global HMI development team with colleagues in Sucany, Munich and Hanover is currently working on these possibilities for expanding the project.
