Mr. Cui, how has the situation in China changed after the Corona lockdown?

Xiaojun Cui

Despite the corona pandemic and the associated economic fluctuation, we were able to make a profit in the first half of 2020 and book significantly more orders. The upward trend in China is driven by the increasing demand from the automotive, chemical, construction materials, medical, and electronics industries as well as growing needs from the flat, pipe and composite markets in China. For example, we won a significant new order from China Resources Chemical Innovative Materials Co, Ltd. for the production of high-performance PET foam.
In addition, the development of new products and applications such as the PX Agile electric injection molding machine and the ZE Agile extruder are contributing to growth.

What role do the environmental service and recycling industry play in China?

Cui

Chinese government has recently stepped up its plastics restriction policy, effective from january 2021, that will restrict usage of non-renewable plastics in China starting with selected cities. This has raised public awareness of the circular economy and its development of related technologies.
As KraussMaffei, we want to play a pioneering role in developing innovative technology to enable best practices in the circular economy. We are developing biodegradable plastics solutions in partnership with our customers and materials suppliers over here, and look forward to applying suitable compounding products to this application.
