New MXZ 2300 boosts flexibility at Oesterle
The MXZ 2300-33000-3000 installed at Oesterle Formenbau in Züttlingen is a true versatile performer: compact, powerful, and exceptionally flexible. With a clamping force of 23,000 kN, it is suitable for both single-component (1K) and two-component (2K) applications and is primarily used in two key areas: the production of robust fan wheels for the construction industry and the sampling of new molds.
Compact power meets efficiency
A major feature of the MXZ 2300 is its compact design: despite its 2K technology, it requires no more space than a conventional 1K machine. This saves valuable floor space and makes it the most popular injection molding machine in its size class.
Another advantage: the rigid platens ensure precise, parallel clamping movements. The result are a reduced mold wear and an excellent part quality – an unbeatable benefit, especially when sampling high-precision molds.
Smart technology for precise 2K production
The rotary table is the heart of the MXZ 2300 when it comes to 2K components. It is integrated into the movable platen, saving installation height and allowing significantly higher mold weights while reducing tilting moments.
The mold half mounted on the rotary table is supplied with oil and water – not through a conventional rotary union prone to corrosion, contamination, and algae buildup, but through KraussMaffei’s proprietary hose routing system, developed over many years.
The benefit: it operates without moving seals and uses unwindable hoses guided in a special track. This solution is far more low-maintenance and saves energy thanks to reduced friction compared to traditional rotary unions.
This rotary table supports 2-shot, 3-shot, and even 4-shot rotations – with full reversing capability.

Automation included – all from a single source
The complete scope of supply also includes a specially tailored automation system: a linear robot of type LRX and other custom components are part of the package – all from a single source, KraussMaffei.
This perfect interplay of injection molding technology and automation ensures maximum efficiency and quality in every application.
Trials at the KraussMaffei TechCenter
Could it be even bigger than the MX 2300? That was the question the experts at Oesterle asked when visiting the KraussMaffei TechCenter in Parsdorf.
Sampling trials for a new fan wheel mold were conducted on the new MXW 4500, with an impressive clamping force of 45,000 kN. The results show: KraussMaffei is perfectly equipped even for larger-scale challenges.
