Business Unit Composites/Surfaces
Phillip Zimmermann has been the new Head of the Composites/Surfaces Business Unit for Reaction Process Machinery at KraussMaffei since January 1, 2018. He succeeds Erich Fries, who has left the company to be Managing Director at Hengrui Germany GmbH in the future.
Since June 2012, Zimmermann has already been employed in the Reaction Process Machinery division at KraussMaffei, first as Area Sales Manager Asia and since 2014 as Product and Sales Manager for fiber composite technology in the Composites/Surfaces BU. In addition, he has been Assistant Manager for the Business Unit since 2016. He studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University Ingolstadt and worked previously as a quality engineer at P+Z Engineering.
Zimmermann primarily sees his goal as the further development and establishment of suitability for series production for composite technologies – like the T-RTM process or Wetmolding – and the implementation of cost-effective surface technologies.

Due to his outstanding personal and technical skills, he will help to strengthen and expand this important business unit for Reaction Process Machinery at KraussMaffei," said Nicolas Beyl, President of the Reaction Process Machinery segment at the KraussMaffei Group and Managing Director of KraussMaffei Technologies GmbH. He continues: "We thank Erich Fries for setting up the Composites/Surfaces Business Unit in the last five years and thus establishing Reaction Process Machinery at KraussMaffei as a leading provider in fiber composites and surface technologies."
