Annette Beierling looks back at the K trade fairs since 2004
The K celebrates its birthday! In 1952, what is now the largest plastics trade show in the world opened its doors for the first time - and KraussMaffei was there from the very beginning. In this AHEAD series, long-time K participants talk about technical highlights, emotional moments and what they are looking forward to at the 70th anniversary this year. Annette Beierling, Global Application & Product Owner EXT Pipe & Profile, remembers special exhibits and highlights at the KraussMaffei booth.

Can you still remember your first K trade fair?

My first K was in 2004, when I was involved in selecting the exhibits.

How many K fairs have you been a part of?
Annette Beierling
I have had the privilege of attending six K trade shows for KraussMaffei so far.

What has been your highlight over the years?
Annette Beierling
My highlight was K 2016, where we were able to show an exhibit as part of a very large order and had prepared a special promotion for our customers. In general, Extrusion always had wonderful exhibits in the pipe and profile sector and was able to present highlights of machine technology live to international customers. Also the bundled contacts to customers, suppliers and partners, the personal meetings with international colleagues and the joint evenings are always a highlight.

What has changed since you started?
Annette Beierling
From my point of view, the outfit at our booth has changed very much to our advantage. On the other hand, the reduction in the number of exhibits, especially in my area of pipe and profile, was a disadvantage. In 2019, KraussMaffei has focused on a life application in the area of extrusion and therefore there were no longer many options for other applications.

What are you looking forward to this year?
Annette Beierling
That the trade show can take place and that we will hopefully receive a lot of response from customers and interested parties with the exhibit for my area. And as always, I look forward to meeting international colleagues, customers and partners.
